SHARJAH, 8 November 2024 — Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) hosted a special Acting Through Song masterclass last week in collaboration with the US Embassy, featuring acclaimed performers Darnell Abraham and Dr Duane Funderburk.
Abraham, currently starring as Mufasa in the national tour of The Lion King and known for his portrayal of George Washington in Hamilton, shared his expertise and passion with SPAA’s Year 4 Musical Theatre students. Accompanied by Dr Funderburk, an internationally celebrated pianist and composer, the session included live performance, guidance, and an engaging question-and-answer segment.
The masterclass left students inspired and motivated, providing a rare opportunity to learn from two world-class artists.
SPAA thanked Abraham and Dr Funderburk for an afternoon of artistry and insight.
